Short-term overseas-mission trips are a way that the church supports its Mission Partners in countries overseas. Typically a small team visits a Mission Partner, aiming to:
● Strengthen the partnership between the church and the mission partners
● Encourage the mission partners (including the children)
● Raise the profile of overseas mission in the wider congregation
● Provide individuals with an experience of overseas missions which will encourage them to pray/give/go.

These trips are overseen by a short-term overseas-mission planning group, which works to enable wider church participation in planning, sending and going.
The three members of the planning group are Ruth Givan, Rob Lancaster and Joy Walker.

Donations made to the Short-term Mission Fund will be placed in a restricted fund administered by the PCC of Holy Trinity Platt.  The funds shall be used to support short-term mission activities organised by Holy Trinity Platt (for example, to contribute towards travel costs, accommodation, mission resources [eg Bibles, teaching resources, language training] and other costs directly related to short-term mission.  The funds shall not be used to contribute towards entertainment, food, drink or other per-diem costs that are not directly related to mission activities.  In the event that more money is received into the fund than is needed for any planned short-term mission activities, any residual amounts can be used for wider mission activities supported by the PCC.

You can also give by bank transfer, cheque or cash – you’ll find all the information you need at https://www.plattchurch.org/church-family/giving/.  If giving by bank transfer, please include ‘STMission’ in your payment reference.
