Coronavirus Updates

You’ll naturally be aware of the fast moving situation with Coronavirus. We’re regularly monitoring and reviewing aspects of church life.

Read the latest updates here.

In-person Services

We will have three in-person services each Sunday. Find out more by watching this video and reading the church family update below.

The next video shows what it will be like as you arrive.

Midweek Service

We are going to hold a short weekly service on Tuesdays at 2pm (please arrive at 1:45 to allow time to fill in test and trace information). It will be quieter, shorter and smaller than our Sunday services, particularly for those who find Sundays too busy at the moment.

Christmas Choir

The Christmas Choir is still be happening this year! Rehearsals will be on Zoom and then we will record ourselves separately at home. Reherasals are Monday evenings. Email Olly to get involved.

Private Prayer

We’ll be open for private prayer this Tuesday between 2-3pm. We’ve taken steps to ensure everyone’s safety. Just turn up at any point during that time.

Midweek Prayer Meeting

On Thursdays in November join us for half an hour to read a Psalm and share a time of open prayer. 8:15-8:45am or 1-1:30pm, we’ll always be finished within half an hour. You’d be very welcome to come to one or come to them all! Contact the office for the Zoom details.

Sunday Evening Prayer

Join us at 6pm on Sunday for half an hour to pray together. Contact us for the zoom link.

Tearfund

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far to the work of Tearfund off the back of the Big Quiz Night last Saturday. If you would still like to make a donation, it’s not to late. You can do so on JustGiving here.

Christmas is coming – and Steve Saxton, Ishbel Saxton, & Chris Naylor are offering items for sale where you can give the money via the church, and the items will be delivered to your door. You can find out more and see the range of items available here.

Given the difficulty of seeing people in person, sending greetings could be more valuable than ever. If you would like to purchase some Christmas cards with funds going to the work of Tearfund, you can do so on their website here.

Tearfund are also providing an advent devotional – “Hope”. A really helpful daily message throughout advent. You can sign up for the emails here.

Church Christmas decorations

As part of the decorations in church this year, we’d love you all to print and brightly colour in one (or more!) of these candle pictures. If you don’t have access to a printer, you can pick them up from the church office or get in touch.

Please could you return the candle pictures to church by Wednesday 25th November.

Christmas Windows

If you live within walking distance of the church building, would you like to be part of a trail of Christmas window displays for local people to follow? Contact the office if you’d like to find out more.

Friends International are relaunching their hosting scheme with the hope that international students can be linked with local Christians even if it is only via zoom or a walk in the park.
If you can help international students in this way, they are asking for hosts to fill in a new hosting form here, where you can also find out more information.

Offering hope in a time of crisis

The annual Friends International North West Training Conference will be taking place online this year on Saturday 21st November to help equip those reaching international students during this time. This will be especially useful to hosts involved in Local Link. For more information, or to sign up, visit the form here.
