Worship at Platt
Ephesians 5v19–20: "Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Our desire is to worship and glorify the Lord God with our whole lives. We meet regularly to worship as a church family on Sundays and in House Groups and Clusters during the week.
We welcome many people who have never been to church before, may or may not be a Christian, maybe looking for God or are just curious.
Morning and evening praise are based loosely on the Anglican Service of the Word. We meet around the Lord's Table in our monthly Holy Communion services, which are from Common Worship. Children and young people have their own groups at the 9:45 service with all age 'all1@platt' services once a month. We use a variety of modern praise songs with some traditional hymns.
From time to time we include drama, video, dance, puppets and other media. In smaller groups and prayer meetings we have used meditation, news articles, art and candles amongst other things, to help us focus and draw closer to God.
We work continually to ensure that those leading worship in music, drama and other media are representative of our diverse congregation.
A continuing prayer of ours is that we would all recognize that God has blessed every one of us with gifts and abilities. We are all gifted in different ways, and it is our duty as Christians to use these gifts in service to God.
If you are interested in finding out more about using your gifts to help lead our church in worship, be it musically, dramatically or any other way, please do get in touch. Also if you have any questions, comments or suggestions about worship at Holy Trinity Platt, we'd love to hear from you.
