What is SBS.......?
It's 6 p.m. on a Thursday evening, you've just finished revising at the library / watching Neighbours* (delete where appropriate) and you've got the whole evening ahead of you. Grab yourself some food (but save your pudding stomach) - then grab your bible and a pen, and head over to Holy Trinity Platt for 6:45 p.m. Why? S.B.S. of course!

SBS stands for Student Bible Study. It does pretty much what it says on the tin (although that name doesn't mention: the eating of puddings, catching up with friends or the chance to pray - and we thought SBSEoPCUWFtCtP wasn't quite catchy enough). So yes, we meet at 6:45 p.m. in the Church Hall for puddings (and cakes and fruit and sweets and brownies and those crispy chocolate cornflake things… mmm…) and a time to meet friends old & new. |
There are as always the inevitable notices; a prayer; then we head to our groups…
| These are each led by 2 members of Platt (who have undergone lengthy & intense training) and meet in the comfort of local houses, where we have the chance to explore a little more of God's word in the safety of a small group. Starting in 2007 we are looking at studies in the book of Hebrews. There's also a chance to share what's on our hearts and in our lives that we'd like prayer for before the (approximate) finishing time of 9:30 p.m. There are also social events planned during the year… It'd be great to see you there! |
A knotty problem for SBS? |

We'd love to hear from you, if only for a chat!!
Are you sick of hall food? Fighting for room in your kitchen? Then we can help you to forget all the hassles of cooking for yourself and give you the chance to enjoy some lovely home cooked food. This is a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and make some new ones. This will take place in the church lounge two or three times a term, before the evening service. Keep your eyes peeled for more details or contact Janet for future dates! If you'd like more regular food, why not contact us about our adopt a student scheme??!

Pegged
out at Platt?
Ever get fed up of rummaging around in the sink for clean cutlery before you can eat your dinner? Ever long to hang out in a sitting room which isn't painted magnolia? Ever fancy getting to know someone who isn't a student, but lives in the real world? If the answer is yes, then the Platt 'adopt-a-student' scheme might be for you! Students who sign up will be linked with a person or family in church, to help you get to know more people who come to Platt on a Sunday, with the odd free meal thrown in too. If you're interested, then keep your eyes peeled for the notices in the pew sheet at church.
