Liz was first involved at Platt as a teenager in the late 1960's when she was brought by a friend to a Guest Service. Through this she made a commitment to the Lord. That has guided through her career in Nursing, Midwifery and then specialising in Palliative Care. Whilst working in Palliative Care she felt challenged to explore her faith in more depth and so studied the Cambridge Diploma in Theology. From Cambridge she went to the Yorkshire Dales and enjoyed 4 years on the Community at Scargill House, an Anglican Holiday and Conference Centre. The last 13 years she has spent in London on the Staff of All Souls Langham Place, as their Welcome Desk Manager and latterly as the Pastoral Support Co-ordinator. |
In November 2005 Liz joined the staff at Platt to be the Pastoral Care Minister. The key responsibilities of role being to develop one to one work in counselling and in depth pastoral care as well as further developing the pastoral structure already in place. Throughout her nursing career, the verse that has always challenged the care she has given has been John 10:10b "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full". In service for the Lord we should all be encouraging one another to know that enrichment of full life in Christ.
