I have lived in Manchester ever since I arrived fresh-faced
from Birmingham as a student in the 70's, and never managed to leave! |
I studied medicine, worked in hospitals as a Radiologist for many years, then left to recover from an illness, and meantime studied for an MA in Theology at the Nazarene College in Didsbury, at the same time as doing my Reader Training. I really enjoy teaching the gospel and one to one evangelism, and have been involved in several of the courses we have put on here at Platt, as well house-groups, and 'City Centre Alpha'. I also have the privilege of preaching at other churches from time to time, which I love - it's wonderful to see what God is doing else-where.
I'm back in medicine (part time) now, working in a unit for breast disease in North Manchester, which I really enjoy, even though it is emotionally quite demanding. The rest of my time is spent in supporting my husband as he runs a Planning Consultancy business, my three adult children, and my elderly parents. Music, hill-walking and photography are my main interests, and I do seem to watch a lot of football - although not always out of personal choice!
